ROOLY Stainless Rabbit Litter Box

Crafted with a three-part design, this litter box features a stainless steel bottom that makes cleaning quick and effortless. The thoughtfully designed plastic grate ensures that your bunny’s waste falls through, while providing a comfortable surface for their feet.
A standout feature of this litter box is its ability to hide pee pads and liners, ensuring that your bunny won’t have access to chew them, which can be a common concern for bunny owners. This not only keeps your bunny safe but also makes life easier for bunparents by maintaining a neat and hygienic environment. With ROOLY, you’ll spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying your bunny’s company.

FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
Is It Normal For The Grate To Feel Slightly Bouncy?
Yes. The stainless steel litter box has a very sturdy structure. We used durable materials for the grate (same as our XL litter box grates) and designed it this way on purpose to allow poop and pee to fall through better. Your bunnies should not be bothered by this, as it is very smooth and comfortable for their feet.
For transitioning, you can add some hay on top of the grate at first. Once they get the hang of it, they should use it without any issues. This design also makes the grate easier to clean while remaining strong and sturdy.
How to Clean the Grate and the White Top?
For any grated litter box, spot cleaning is recommended. Pee won’t pool with our design, but as long as there is surface area, some staining can still happen over time.
We personally do a quick wipe and rinse every night or every other night. That’s also why our grate is designed to be easily removable.
For deep cleaning, you can use a water and vinegar mixture. Spray the solution on the grate and surface, let it sit for about 30 minutes (longer if needed), then with a gentle brush, all old stains can be removed.
The brush we like to use for deep cleaning is linked below if you’re in the U.S.
Why Use Litter Box With Grate/Floor Mat?
1. Stops the digging fun. If your bunny is having too much fun digging the litter out...this is your solution.
2. Reduces the hay waste. Us bun parents know, bunnies do not eat soiled hay. With a safe grate, it helps to reduce hay waste.
3. Makes cleaning easier for bunparents. You can use any preferred beddings/pee pads at the bottom without worrying about your bunnies tearing and ingesting them that may lead to GI Stasis.
4. Bunnies will no longer be sitting in soiled litter, which will keep their feet and bottoms clean.
5. Bunparents can easily monitor pee and poop condition by simply lifting up the grate as waste easily falls through our grate even for larger buns.
Will My Bunny’s Nails Get Caught In The Grate?
No, as long as your bunny’s nails are trimmed regularly, about every 4–6 weeks, which is the normal maintenance schedule anyway. The grate won’t hurt their nails or feet. The openings are designed to be safe and comfortable for rabbits with properly trimmed nails.
Will The Grate Cause Sore Hocks?
When it comes to medical concerns like sore hocks, it’s always best to check in with your vet.
Our grate is thoughtfully designed to provide a large, smooth surface—unlike the thin wire floors that are commonly linked to sore hocks. While sore hocks are a medical condition, many bunnies (especially certain breeds) are simply prone to developing callouses. According to our vet, callouses are typically found on the heels, are often still covered in fur, and are not the same as sore hocks.
That said, every bunny is different. Just like some bunnies can zoom across hardwood floors with no issue while others prefer carpet, suitability depends on your individual bun. You know them best—so we encourage you to use your judgement when deciding if our grate is a good fit for their needs.
Is The Grate Floor Safe for Bunnies?
ROOLY’s grate is thoughtfully designed with bunny comfort in mind, the surface is smooth and rounded.
Since every bunny is different, we encourage you to use your best judgment when deciding if it’s suitable for your bun(s). As with any new item you introduce, we recommend closely observing their behavior over the first few days to ensure they’re comfortable and adjusting well.
Will the Grate Prevent My Bunnies From Eating Their Cecotropes?
No, the grate will not prevent them from getting the nutrients they need.
Bunnies can produce cecotropes anywhere and anytime and they know when it's coming...Bunnies usually put their heads down to eat the cecotropes (like fresh/directly from the source lol) to ensure they get the nutrients they need. They don't necessarily produce cecotropes when they use the litter box, and even if they do, cecotropes are sticky unlike their normal dry poops that just fall through the grate holes.
How Can I Get My Bunny Accustomed to Using the ROOLY Litter Box?
1. Place some of the old or used litter beneath the grate so your bun associates the new litter box with their familiar bathroom scent.
2. Set the new litter box in the same location as the old one to maintain consistency. It doesn’t hurt to leave the old one in their area too until they are fully transitioned.
3. Add hay directly on top of the grate to encourage use.
4. If they are still not transitioned with the above steps, you can simply remove the grate and add beddings (some old some new) in the bin. Keep the white top. Remove the old litter box completely, put this in the exact same position. Once they use it for awhile, add the grate back on with some hay on top.
